I left a secure career at the City of Amsterdam because I knew I wanted to build something of my own.
From the outside, everything looked stable. I had responsibility, impact, a good position.
But over time I started to feel that my growth didn’t fit inside that structure anymore.
I didn’t want to climb someone else’s ladder.
I wanted to build my own.
That decision wasn’t impulsive. It was uncomfortable, layered, and full of questions.
I had to figure out what I was actually good at, what I cared about, and how that could translate into real value in the market.
That process changed everything.
